Select picker type

The select picker type feature in the InputWP plugin allows you to choose the type of date/time picker that best suits your needs for the input field. This gives you flexibility in capturing and displaying date and time information in your events.

How to use

    • Navigate to “InputWP” in the left-hand menu.
    • Click on “All Events.”
    • Locate the event for which you want to configure the picker type.
    • Click on “View Details” under the “Introduction” section of the event.
  2. Choosing a picker type: On the event details page, you will find the “Type” section. Here, you can choose the type of date/time picker you want to use. You will see the following options represented as radio buttons:
    • Date and Time Picker (Default)
    • Date Picker
    • Time Picker
    • Date Range
Click on the radio button corresponding to your preferred picker type.
  3. Integrated picker display: Depending on the picker type you selected, the appropriate date or time picker will be integrated into the input field after you’ve made your choice. This ensures that you capture the right information according to your event’s requirements.
  4. Saving changes: Once you have selected the desired picker type, click on the “Update” button to save changes.

Benefits of Using Different Picker Types

  • Date and Time Picker (Default): This is the default picker type that captures both the date and time of the event. Use this if you need to specify both the date and the exact time of an event.
  • Date Picker: If you only need to capture the date of an event without the time component, the date picker is ideal. It simplifies the input process for your users. Note: You can create a separate event for the Time picker.
  • Time Picker: For events where you only need to capture the time without the date, the time picker is perfect. It eliminates any confusion regarding dates. Note: You can create a separate event for the Date picker.
  • Date Range: When your event spans multiple days and you want to capture a start and end date, the date range picker is the right choice. It provides a clear representation of the event duration.

By selecting the appropriate picker type, you enhance user experience and ensure accurate data collection for your events.

Remember, you can always return to the event details page to update the picker type if your requirements change.
