Placeholder

The placeholder functionality in the InputWP plugin allows you to manage the presence and content of a placeholder within the date/time picker input field. A placeholder serves as a visual cue to users, providing them with information about the expected format or input.

How to use

  1. Accessing the Feature:
    • Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
    • Navigate to “InputWP” in the left-hand menu.
    • Click on “All Events.”
    • Locate the event for which you want to configure the placeholder.
    • Click on “View Details” under the “Introduction” section of the event.
  2. Enabling/Disabling Placeholder: On the event details page, you will see a toggle switch button labeled “Placeholder.” By default, this option is disabled, meaning no placeholder will be shown.
  3. Using the Placeholder: If you choose to enable the placeholder, the original placeholder that you have set for the input field will be retained. This helps users understand what type of information is expected in the field.
  4. Dynamic Placeholder: When the option is disabled, the plugin provides a dynamic placeholder. This placeholder will be automatically populated with the current date or the next available time based on your configured settings.
  5. Saving Changes: After making your selection regarding the placeholder, click on the “Update” button to save the changes you’ve made, including the placeholder choice.

Benefits of Using the Placeholder

  • Enhanced User Guidance: Enabling the placeholder offers users clear guidance about the expected input format. This helps prevent confusion and improves the overall user experience.
  • Dynamic Information: Disabling the placeholder provides dynamic information, such as the current date or the next available time. This can be especially useful for quickly selecting relevant dates and times.

By customizing the placeholder behavior according to your preferences, you can optimize user interaction and ensure accurate input.
